Since the legalization of marijuana in several U.S. cities, there have been numerous celebrities taking advantage of expanding their businesses. But, this is the first time that a deceased entertainer is doing so.
On February 6, the estate of Bob Marley will release Marley Natural, in partnership with Privateer Holdings (the date is significant as it would have been Marley’s 71st birthday). According to Billboard, Marley Natural flowers and oils will be offered in four strains, Marley Green, Marley Gold, Marley Red and Marley Black. The colors are adapted from the colors of the Ethiopian flag; Ethiopia is the birthplace of Rastafarianism.
“If my father was here physically, he would be up front advocating for this plant, so we are very proud to put our Marley Natural brand out there,” Stephen Marley said.
