The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame made a bold statement Thursday with their announcement of a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beatles[/lastfm] exhibit that they promise to be the biggest and best in the world.

According to Rock Hall Vice President of Exhibitions Jim Henke, the “comprehensive” and “artifact-driven” showcase improved greatly thanks to contributions from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ringo Starr[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]George Harrison[/lastfm]’s representatives.

“We suddenly had three of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]the Beatles[/lastfm] cooperating with us, giving us stuff,” Henke told Billboard.

“So it turned out we were able to put a nice exhibit together.”

Now included in the expanded Beatles exhibit: Ringo’s red military-style jacket from “Strawberry Fields Forever,” George’s striped suit from the band’s first U.S. tour, and a guitar once played by both George and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Lennon[/lastfm].

The Rock Hall expansion also includes the brand-new “Women Who Rock” exhibit, spotlighting legendary female artists like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Janis Joplin[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Grace Slick[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Billie Holliday[/lastfm].
