Green Day Down to Play Desert Trip in 30 Years

30 years might be a stretch, but hey you never know.

Green Day stopped by the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ this week for intimate set for 290 lucky fans.

When asked by KROQ’s Ted Stryker if they’d like to headline Desert Trip in 30 years with the Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. “Sure,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong answered, half seriously.

The inaugural Desert Trip music festival took place over two weekends earlier this month and featured a who’s who (no pun intended) of classic rocks biggest surviving stars including Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Who.

Green day are celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band- could they be part of the next generation of Desert Trippers?
