Warm days, cool nights, perfect weather for IPA.  Then again, I think most weather is perfect for IPA.  While many folks out there are onto sours, barrel aged, and Belgians, I’m contented with a nice cold hoppy brew.  This week I had a beer I picked up while visiting Oregon.  Cast Out IPA from Crux Fermentation Project.  Unlike most beers brewed in the PNW, Crux uses hops NOT from this area.  But EVERYONE uses hops from our area.  People all over the WORLD use hops from our area.  Even with this in mind, I tried it.  The hops are Galaxy, from Australia.  Who knew the country known for sharks, funny accents and Fosters made a nice hop.  And speaking of nice, Cast Out goes down smooth and easy.  Refreshing.   It’s got a nice citrus, bitter, kick.  Which is exactly what a good IPA should have, imo.  I have had plenty of IPA’s who are lacking oomph, missing something, just not quite good.  This beer is not one of those.  This is a real solid hoppy beer, that I really enjoyed!
