‘Sirvana’ At Safeco Field [Video]

Leave it to a Beatle to bring some magic to Safeco Field…

It was a fantasy that a lot of Seattleites had been dreaming of ever since the 12.12.12 Benefit for Sandy Concert happened: Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana playing again after their performance of “Cut Me Some Slack.”

And when Sir Paul made the announcement he’d be playing Safeco Field on July 19 earlier this year, the dream was kept afloat being that he’d be in Nirvana’s hometown (technically Aberdeen in Nirvana’s hometown, but Dave Grohl didn’t join until they’d made the venture to the Emerald City).

Krist Novoselic still lives in the area and contributes to the alternative weekly publication Seattle Weekly. Though Grohl is now a resident in Los Angeles, he still has several ties up here.
