Mike Gastineau:      SEAHAWKS LUCKY THINGS DIDN’T GET WORSE Read More

Seattle’s most famous record label Sub Pop has released a video to announce the lineup for its 25th Anniversary festival called the Silver Jubilee (happening in the Georgetown neighbrohood on July 13). The “silver statesmen” used in the video to make the announcement include famed producer Jack Endino, Mudhoney frontman (and Sub Pop Warehouse manager) Mark Arm, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil and Tad Doyle of the band Tad (currently with Brothers of the Sonic Cloth).

For those of you who are good at lip-reading, you’ll notice at the one-minute mark, Doyle yells (what looks like) “Soundgarden!” But who knows…knowing the sense of humor the label has, Doyle could be yelling something like “Sound Garment!”

Do you think this was a clever and subtle way to announce one of Seattle’s biggest bands will be taking the stage at the free festival?
