10 Unusual Facts About 10 U.S. Presidents

Enjoy some far-out-facts about some of our more far-out President’s.

After the Elder Bush vomited his sushi luncheon on the Japanese Prime Minister, a new word entered the Japanese language “Bushusuru“.  Which means to ‘do the Bush thing‘, or to vomit in public.

Martin Van Buren was the first president to be a U.S. citizen.  The 7 before him were all British.

Abraham Lincoln is the only president who was a licensed bartender.  He even co-owned a saloon in his hometown of Springfield, Illinois.

The only president to be elected unanimously was George Washington.  And the only president to turn down his salary, which was $25,000 dollars back in 1789.

Grover Cleveland was the only president who was a licensed hang man, but did not do any hanging whilst in the White House.

The ‘Teddy Bear’ was designed after Theodore Roosevelt.  Story goes one day he was hunting and refused to kill a baby cub bear, and when word got around a smart entrepreneur came up with the cute, cuddly, warm and fuzzy toy ‘Teddy‘ bear.

A year before JFK was born, Warren G. Dwight D. Eisenhower is the only one to serve in both WWI and WWII.

Jimmy Carter is the first born in an actual hospital, as opposed to a farm house or horse buggy.  He is also the only president to admit to seeing a real-life U.F.O.!  Coincidence?!!

Ulysses S. Grant smoked upwards of 20 cigars a day!  And was given over 10,000 cigars as gifts during his reign.  Before being elected president, his resume showed his profession as “Soldier“…now that’s bad ass!  What isn’t bad ass, is he died at the age of 63 from throat cancer!
