It’s been a long time coming for Black Sabbath fans, but the legendary metal band’s new album has a prospective due date: it should be out within five months.

In a press release announcing a four-date Australian tour in April and May of 2013, the band mentions that the album members have been working on with producer Rick Rubin “is due for release in April 2013.” This will be the first Black Sabbath studio album since 1995’s Forbidden; more importantly, it’s their first studio album with Ozzy Osbourne since 1978’s Never Say Die!. It’s also their first album since guitarist Tony Iommi‘s bout with cancer.

However, not all is well within the Sabbath camp: drummer Bill Ward is estranged from the band. Last year, he didn’t participate in their concerts at England’s Download Festival and Chicago’s Lollapalooza, citing (among other things) “a totally unsatisfactory contract.” Tommy Clufetos, the drummer in Osbourne’s solo band, played at both of those shows, and is expected to play on the album.

The Australian dates aren’t the only shows on the band’s calendar: Sabbath is also headlining Japan’s Ozzfest on May 12, 2013.
