Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman came out today in 1964, it would hit number one a month later. The song came to Roy when his wife interrupted a conversation he was having to say she was going out. Roy asked her if she was okay for cash, and his friend said “A pretty woman never needs any money”.
The Beatles played their last live show before a paying audience tonight in 1966 at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. The audience didn’t have a clue, but John and Paul knew this would be their last show, and snapped pictures of the crowd from the stage. Interestingly, on their entire 1966 last tour ever they did not play one single song from their then-new Revolver album.

Three people were arrested in Memphis Tennesee today in 1977 when they were caught digging up the grave of Elvis Presley just 11 days after his funeral….the King was barely cold….they moved his grave to Graceland after that.
It was today in 2005 that a 77 year old Fats Domino was rescued from his house in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. His manager sent rescuers after receiving a note from Fats saying…”I ain’t evacuating, I’m staying right here….what if Jimmy Page comes to see me?”
