Mid week!  On this day in Classic Rock History Guitarist/singer Mark Farner of [lastfm]Grand Funk Railroad[/lastfm] turns 62.  Today in 1963, [lastfm]The Rolling Stones[/lastfm] began their first-ever tour of the U.K. supported by [lastfm]The Everly Brothers[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Bo Diddley[/lastfm]; in 1967, drummer Mickey Hart joined [lastfm]The Grateful Dead[/lastfm] and in 1973, [lastfm]Grand Funk Railroad[/lastfm] hit #1 with “We’re An American Band.” What a great birthday present for Mark Farner!  Finally, The Demon Seeds of Classic Rock, [lastfm]AC/DC[/lastfm] released their “Let There Be Rock” album 1977!
